Gout & Cardiovascular Risks

The purpose of the study:

To compare the risk of predefined major cardiovascular adverse events (MACE) during treatment with Febuxostat and Allopurinol in subjects with gout and Cardiovascular risks.

Duration:

Approximately 5 years

Number of visits:

Patients will be seen every (2) weeks for the first (10) weeks depending on serum uric acid levels.
Subject will be seen at least every three months for twelve months.
then every (6) months until the study ends.

Compensation:

$50 for each visit.

Qualifications and Notes:

Males over 50 years of age. Females over 55 years and had at least 2-years post-menopausal with gout and a prior history of major cardiovascular event such as heart attack, stroke or angina.
